I can't see it happening at all! I don't know why someone would want to buy a club in this state when there are other clubs with less debt and probably more promise...

and?
It's fan fiction and wishful thinking. Nobody is spending 40million quid or absorbing 100million debt for a 3rd division team.
If the figure was 10mil plus some sort of shares arrangement with Evans in terms of the debt repayment it might be slightly realistic, but this American thing is even more silly then when a ex-Swansea Season Ticket holder was heading up a Dutch consortium to buy Town 5 or 6 years ago, according to many on here which prime source was also Twitter. It never happened and neither will this.
Lambert hasn't been sacked because Evans isn't a very good owner. The conspiracy ends there.

Just because WhatsApp messages say £40m means less than nothing, no one thinks there is anything in it at that price

This whole thing is getting way out of hand.
We are just listening to people on social media who are "in the know".
I can't see it happening at all! I don't know why someone would want to buy a club in this state when there are other clubs with less debt and probably more promise...
And you know, actual journalists who say there is something in it.
To be clear I mean takeover / investment as opposed to specific people being named DoF or CEO.

I would hope not, but this is the same WhatsApp many fans even national media has taken as gospel, as well as Bristol City fans who are praying their CEO moves to Ipswich because he's been such a disaster there. If you look at it with any seriousness it is obviously fake. I'd put my life's savings on it not happening that's how confident I am it is bs.

They are getting it from Twitter. There is nothing in it, not a jot. A bit like when Mike Ashley was buying us because he opened a store in Ipswich.
"mus be sumit init"
No, it's nonsense. This is fan fiction. Wishful thinking, people trying to understand Evans logic in keeping Lambert. Evans is just a rubbish owner, it really just does end there. Why is that a surprise to Ipswich fans? I could understand the outsiders getting it wrong but come on, surely we all know Evans is this bad by now?

You have absolutely no way of knowing that. And I'll repeat here, even Phil has said there is something in it more than the usual.
> A bit like when Mike Ashley was buying us because he opened a store in Ipswich.
So because one thing is wrong, everything else is? That's ridiculous logic. I'm not even saying it's definitely happening, just that given we've got people who are actual journalists saying there's something in it, there might well be something in it more than the usual nonsense rumours.
You can keep stating it's not happening with absolutely no basis other than "because I said so" if you like but I don't see why you're so mad about it.
Frank Yallop for Manager/DOF on 11:55 - Feb 24 by DanTheMan
I mean I guess you can accuse Phil of lying about it if you like.
Where has Phil said an American consortium is being led by Bristol City's CEO (is that even legal?) to buy the club for 40million quid plus absorbing 100mil debt? Why would he commit himself to that obvious rubbish?

Fecking hell you're hard work.
There is something in the rumours about potential takeover / investment. Not that it's really far along, just than it's more than the usual nonsense rumours. I've already said ignoring the specifics.

When this doesn't happen you are going to look very foolish for going on the attack like this, very anti-vax mentality, but I will happily eat my hat if it does.
I can state it's not happening because basic logic tells me so. You say I have no proof it's not happening, are you really willing to hang your hat on a heavily pixelated jpeg from WhatsApp as proof? Look at the way the messages are constructed... it's fan fiction.

Notice how he has changed his stance from no new owner to the specific Bristol link after Phil stated he's heard some things in the past 24 hours.
