Imo, the success of Londoners moving to or being in the sticks depends on their attitude. If they come in hoity toity and try to bring the city with them, they'll get shot down very quickly.
If however, your take the same approach as my dad did, you're welcomed: being a boozing Christian, he was always either in the pub or the church, so everyone got to know him and they drank/prayed/sang together and no one thought him a London tosspot. [Post edited 18 Mar 2021 13:44]
