That is one of the stupid things about this situation. The top clubs are vastly loaded with debt, just they struggle less than those lower down in being able to service them. They've painted themselves into a corner, are unwilling to cut back and now need a new injection of cash. Which is why this plan is not a true breakaway, but rather a wish to have extra cake on top of what they are already scoffing. |  |
