This may well make me sound like an idiot but is the ‘transfer list’ an actual document that gets emailed or faxed to potentially interested clubs? Or is it just a generic football saying that is used to tell a player that he can go?

If it is a thing, are Bishop etc etc all officially on the transfer list?
