Was that from Tallin to Helsinki?

As it stands I think most EU countries are heading towards mandatory quarantine when coming from the UK regardless of double-vaccination due to the delta variant.

For instance, people from the UK can travel to Spain but once they get there they need to quarantine so it's pointless for a holiday.

Interestingly there is likely to be an issue within the EU with vaccine passports for some people who received certain batches of the AZ vaccine in March this year that were produced in India.

I happen to have been given one of those batches. This is down to the Indian produced AZ vaccine not having a licence for EU use.

Indeed, although originally they were hoping that the UK could also install the EU passport app and have the records of vaccinations in there for travel within the EU.

Edit: Your post was blank but just appeared.

That's interesting, I didn't realise they were citing batches of AZ made in India as unacceptable for the passport - that's incredibly annoying for anyone in that batch number - I'll have to check mine now.

Yeah the post was blank for some reason as I changed tabs to find the article I had read and returned to the original tab on my iPad to find no text but submitted anyway in the hope it was a glitch

This seems like a ridiculous technicality to me. It is the same vaccine, just made in different place.

Yep, there’s something in there about the vaccine primarily being used in poorer countries and snobbery within the EU

Excellent, Tallin is lovely, unfortunately never had time to get the ferry over to Helsinki.

....for my first jab, so did the wife.

It will get sorted very quickly, in fact 7 (I think) EU countries have already approved it for travel, it just hasn't had the blanket EU approval.

It's only an issue because it was never intended for distribution in the EU so they didn't bother seeking approval.

The countries in Asia and Africa that used it extensively have already said that if it isn't approved then they won't allow EU travelers into their country.

Childish maybe, but undoubtedly it will work!

Similar situation in US. Bruce Springsteen concerts in NYC require attendees to be vaccinated using vaccine approved by US authorities. They never approved AZ vaccine as they didn’t need to as they already had sufficient supply of other vaccines. Canada has used AZ so anyone who receive AZ vaccine in Canada unable to attend shows.

India are demanding acceptance of their vaccines before they agree to accept the EU passport for visitors from EU.
