Booing today. 17:09 - Aug 21 with 4579 viewstoronto_blue

If you went to Portman Road today, watched that performance, and decided to open your mouth and boo the team, please do yourself and everyone around you a favour and never, ever step foot in that stadium again.

360 minutes into a new season, with a new team, and you think a draw is worthy of a boo? This isn’t FIFA, these are humans working out how to play together - and if you have any idea of what’s happening there you can see the improvements in quality that we have.

We are not entitled to walk the league from minute one, we have clearly improved almost every player in every position, yet you decide to rock up and just boo because we didn’t win our second home game? Yes you paid money to get in, fair enough - but gain some perspective for god sake.

Embarrassing.

I was talking to Stokie in the midst of that game and said that I felt there could be boos in the air. Not something I would be doing right now, but I can certainly understand how frustrated people are right now.

No, but he’s probably content that there are positives to take from today and booing doesn’t help anybody. Simple really.

No-one is delighted with 2 points from 12. It is very very frustrating, both this week and last, if we got that 2nd goal we would have won both games.

Everyone is frustrated.

I take it you were delighted with the start of the last two seasons? Remember how they panned out...

A season isn't defined by the first 4 games, if you booed that performance your a disgrace and most definitely not a fan

Understood - but this group and this team isn’t responsible for that. In fact none of those in the club exist from that horrendous period of Ipswich as a club. So 4 games is hardly the time to stick a negative boot in, it’s so poor.

Also the ‘are you happy with 2 points’ angle is so weak. Of course I thought we might have a few more, but after the dross we have put up with we are looking so, so much better in terms of individual player options, with more good players to come in and impact. Some of them have known each other for 3 weeks for christ sake - I’d love to see you crushing your jobs inside out after 3 weeks.

All I’m saying is - perspective is needed, and sadly some ITFC fans seem to lack that in a big way.

if you feel wound up it's because you know im right ;)

No 1 forced anyone to go today, they're not booing last season, they're booing the new squad. Its embarrassing and pathetic from supporters who claim to be proud town fans.

The pathetic boooers are supporters as they have paid their money but they are definitely not fans and are an embarrassment to the club, I detest them.

not supporters if they boo, paying customers to football is the better way to describe them.

I didn't boo but I did shout a few frustrated expletives. Please may I come again next week?

Individual errors are criminal and have nothing to do with the team still gelling.

I'd go ballistic at my team mates in the bottom division of Sunday football for those errors so you'll forgive me that I expect more from professional footballers that I've paid my hard earned money to watch.

Cheers.

What are the positives to take? We had 8 less shots than them, 4 less shots on target, 20% less possession, and generally got outplayed with them hitting the bar twice.

There are obvious signs of individual quality but I’m failing to see any form of coaching that is enabling these players to play Cook’s style of play.

It’s especially concerning when Cook’s assistant’s team, who he took charge of when they were near relegation, not 7th, are getting far better results than us and are 11 places above us in the table despite having a rebuild of a similar size.

Coaching would seem to be the issue, without Richardson Cook seems very mediocre.

Of all the times in the last 15 years to be patient, now is the time pal. Try and wrap your head around the level of transition the club have undertaken this summer.

This isn't being patient with a bunch of below par L1 players in the Champ under Hurst or a load of past it players plugging their ears under Lambert.

Fair comment, I’m just not convinced by Cook and wasn’t last season. Matt Gill got a tune out of last seasons squad and we went down hill when Cook signed on I do agree we needed a refresh of the playing squad and was positive about this season but aside from individual quality the same issues are still present.

I don't boo at the end of games. However, I see it as booing the result and venting frustration. I don't really see it as a massive deal.

On your middle paragraph. We have won 4 in 21. Cook has been poor so far. We don't look any materially different to under Lambert. He needs to sort it asap.
