Indeed, he'd only lost his previous job because the club collapsed financially, nothing to do with their playing record at the time.

Pearson is who I’d go for; maybe Mowbray/Venus

We are club that has stuck through managers no matter what. Not sure in current climate that's the best thing. I hate to say it but the Chelsea/ Watford model might be the best solution. Until we get the right guy in. Football has changed massively and the only way is up.
Gamechanger should go after a credible manager in a job not one out of work next on 10:05 - Sep 12 with 879 views | WD19 | They can’t ‘go after’ anyone like that whilst we have got a manager in role. There is no way it would be kept confidential and Paul Cook is very well connected in football as we have seen. So it would have to be someone out of work that we could risk talking to…..or we would have to pull the trigger on Cook and wing it. All things considered, giving it a few more weeks to sort itself out is the least worst option. Probably. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We did OK in the weeks between Lambert going and Cook arriving, quite a few teams have a 'bounce' during the managerless interval.

In the business world if things are not succeeding they will fire the relevant team and go after the best they can get. It's ruthless but they want to be at the top. We are too nice as a football club and maybe that has to change unfortunately.

Gamechanger should go after a credible manager in a job not one out of work next on 10:15 - Sep 12 with 825 views | Mullet | I think we need someone who fits the structure Ashton and Gamechanger want to create. It’s not very Ipswich and possibly a bit trendy and modern akin to Swansea, Brentford, Wolves et al. I’m not sure we can attract a foreign coach who isn’t already over here do the talent pool may be fairly shallow. Unfortunately Cook is clearly more used to being a traditional manager and there’s nothing wrong with that but given Ashton turned him down twice prior, you can see why the way he went after the old players and the dismal return this season has led us here. Perhaps that misalignment is going to a problem at the bottom of Div 3

Both applications/ interviews at Brizzle I believe unless I read it wrong this summer. Don’t think Cooks career lines up with Oxford and Ashton.

Imagine him getting them promoted and we either play them next season or, even worse, they take our place. I think that will be the peak of the Banter era.
