Be careful what you wish for 14:43 - Sep 29 with 1714 viewschrismakin

Forgetting who it's about for a second, is there a more annoying phrase in football than this?

Would you never dump a GF if it's not working just incase the next one is worse?

It is a phrase that grates on me a little because there's nothing more inevitable that change in football

Change is always a gamble and a cheap shot is always "be careful what you wish for"

Definition of madness and all that

It's so frustrating because these media types don't watch these teams week in week out like us fans, they just spout generalisations, see Jim White re Lambert.

I don't listen to much talksport anymore but Trevor Sinclair is such a consistently poor pundit. He's just another one that trots out clichés with no real substance.

Aside from Cardiff's form, I have no idea what is going on at the club so don't know what circumstances Mick is working under, but it's not looking good.

I heard some commentary of Man City vs PSG last night which had Danny Mills as analyst. Equally as poor a pundit, and the thing that irks me most about the likes of them is the faux-knowledge they pass off on the EFL when it gets to the play-offs and the Premier League has wrapped up.

Just to continue my rant on talksport, they had Dean Saunders on with Jamie O'Hara after the game. It was the first time I had heard talksport for a while but was surprised to hear Saunders as they gave him the boot after his drink-driving charges.

Anyway O'Hara asked Saunders who the best player in the world was at the moment, suggesting it was Salah. Saunders immediately ruled out Lewandowski as he plays in Germany, which he believes is not comparable to the Prem... Saunders followed up by suggesting it was quite possibly Messi, ignoring the fact that he plays in France.

I suppose what I'm babbling on about is that the things I find most annoying about football media are the boring, predictable questions, and the poorly thought out, cookie-cutter answers.

Not what you asked for but these pundits just baffle me with the nonsense they come out with.

I hate the phrase. It tends to be parroted by people who think they know best but actually don’t know anything much beyond the sound of their own voice. If Cardiff people are after something better than 9 goals conceded in 2 games and 5 centre halves, who is Sinclair or anyone else to criticise them?

As for the truly awful Jim White, don’t start me on him again.
