And hopefully after promotion, when the season is broken down and people actually talk about the summer exits it's going to come down to this. We had a squad of good players, who had gone too long with no pressure on them because of the lack of any real club structure. And because of that lack of structure they all became best mates with each other rather than colleagues, literally because they weren't getting any support from the club. Which also explains their reactions to the crowd when we turned on them occasionally. You can see it still in all of the messages to Chambo on his birthday saying "My captain" or "My skipper", even from players still here or players not playing with him now, I don't blame any of them, they were clearly all very good mates and supported each other off the pitch, but that just doesn't translate when as a captain, you've got to put pressure on players 'in match' to affect their performance. I think the group of players we had last season, if they hadn't been broken up, would very likely have ruined their careers here. |  |
