I thought I’d missed an announcement about him rejoining the staff for a second! Those goals, we had great players back then, how did we screw it up so badly?
Funny thing is I was very underwhelmed when he signed. Why scrape around the bottom of the barrel for the likes of him thought I? Got that a tad wrong. What a great signing he was. Over 270 appearances for us and a big player for the big occasion. That performance in the Bolton play off game at PR was sublime.
How sad that Evans treated him so shabbily. I’d love to see him back here, but can’t see it happening.

' I just didn't want to be beaten.'
Jim Magilton, our last player to make it to legendary status.
He summed up himself there what really made him so great - it wasn't just his skill with the ball, creativity and flair, but that he fought to use those things for every second of every minute he was on the pitch - and inspired his team-mates to do the same.
Without that, I doubt we'd have got past Bolton in the PO semis - it was his attitude, fire & fight which eventually gave us the edge.
