Not sure which is harder. Also not sure if Adolf Hitler would get cheered by Ally Pally if he was on for it!

Lean towards the 147 being more difficult given the multiple opportunities to make mistakes.

147 is miles harder I’m no more than a pub player and have had 5 perfect darts in competition. Whereas in snooker there’s snooker players who are professional who’ve never hit a 147.

Wait, what? You yourself personally have hit five (5) 9-dart finishes? Or have I misread that?

Ronnie O’Sullivan in full flow when switching between left hand and right hand playing snooker and making it look absolutely effortless is not talked about enough. The bloke is a genius.

No I mean in competition I’ve got as far as 5 of the 9 darts in. 180 on the first visit and then treble 20, treble 19 for darts 4 and 5. Missed the treble in the 6th. In practice I have had back to back 180s but didn’t go for the 141 finish after because I wasn’t doing a 501 leg. I’m obviously not saying a 9 darter is easy but there’s enough decent amateurs that have got close. Whereas in snooker not even every professional has actually managed the maximum.

It's also arguable that a 147 takes a degree of luck as well as amazing skill. Separating the pack of reds and still being in a good potting position afterwards is something which not even the best player can do flawlessly every time. If the reds weren't grouped together, 147s would be commonplace, but because they are, there's an element of chance involved which makes every game unique. On the darts board, the position of the points on the board is the same every time, the only factor other than the skill of player is the placing of each dart and how that makes getting subsequent darts into the same "slot" (i.e. the treble 20) slightly harder. I'd argue that snooker is the most skilful game in the world after chess.

Completely agree. Perhaps past his best now though. Yet, won the last tournament. Was playing poorly then something clicked … 5-7 down. In a blink he won 10-8.

After the first time I played snooker, I had a hell of an amount more respect for the professionals that make it look so easy. Potting the ball is almost a given and they are always thinking a couple of shots ahead. Ronnie O'Sullivan is outrageously good and doesn't get the respect he deserves outside of those that enjoy/follow snooker.

When he first started out he was over celebrating a lot, even just scores like 100 he would sometimes give a little fist pump. That started to get to some opponents so they'd then give some back and there would be a lot of battles shall we say. He's a lot more mellow now, he still gives big roars when he wins sets or whatever but that's how he is and how he gets himself pumped. Pretty embarrassing he still gets booed, but then the crowd have been booing everyone this tournament.

Isn't that just part of the drama of modern darts though? For a 'sport' that's based abut fat blokes throwing needles at a wall, there's a lot of theatrics, particularly during the 'walking on' stage of matches.

The blokes a prick He's similar to James wade. I beat him when he played County level, he threw his darts in the bin in the hall and went mental at the fact he lost a match. This was before he went professional tho. Price is similar. He's a bit of a prik at the oche. He gives it to the crowd, then when he's under pressure he moans about the crowd noise.

Don’t think it’s ever been a secret on here I played darts at a decent level. The week before lockdown I was going to be watched by the captain of a decent High Wycombe side as a bit of a trial for them because I’d gone unbeaten in the singles for something like 10 weeks in the league. But that week was the week I went to Cheltenham 2020 and obviously we went into lockdown straight after. And then I eventually left Wycombe after I graduated and haven’t played a competitive match since. I do mean to join a team in Essex at some point but the practicing a few teams a week was fun when it was with mates at uni who were doing the same but I’m not sure I’d be able to get the practice in doing it in Essex on my own.

Just ti clarify.. you’re claiming to have beaten number 4 in the world, 46 time world ranking winner and 8 time major champion James Wade? That’s what you’re claiming here?

Hahaha of course you did P.s get in contact with a club at superleague level, best practice you will get midweek and a step up in competition levels to enter. When I was playing for suffolk it was Monday club level darts. Tues and Friday superleague. Suffolk would be on a Sunday.

He was a 16/17 year old for Hampshire at the time so no not a world number 4 then.
