So why is it spelt 'anti-vaxxer' on 16:38 - Jan 6 with 706 views | Guthrum | I don't know. Presumably vax as short for vaccine (rather than vacuum cleaner), then the double "x" to make it read better. Colloquial, innit.

So why is it spelt 'anti-vaxxer' on 20:07 - Jan 6 with 533 views | Bluedicea | Because grammatically you cannot have an anti vaccine, that would translate as having a vaccine against nothing which doesn't make sense. So the x was added to differentiate it and entered parlance as anti vaxxer, meaning against vaccines. There are certain laws in how words have to be arranged so they can be more easily understood and less likely to cause confusion or sound gibberish. Similar in a way to the double negative issue, when heard the brain struggles to understand it, until it's heard enough times to be understood as a colloquial version of the correct way to say it.

We purchased a Shark last year & I can confirm they’re very good but very temperamental & high maintenance after about 6 months (the vac, not the wife) Cleaning foam filters clogged in layers of matted dust and rollers absolutely clogged with hair is pretty horrific. No problem in the summer because you can take them outside to clean, not much fun in midwinter when it’s pis*ing down. Hopeless at cleaning stair carpet and the wife has declared it too heavy to use (the vac, not me) Stick with The Henry.
