It was the draws what killed the chance 10:25 - Mar 26 with 725 views | unstableblue | Looked at the 6 game form guide to see how our 6th place ‘rivals’ are getting along And oh my word that stark stark view of why we’ve dropped away! We sit in 10th place… Drawn 4 and Won 2, 1.66 ppg The 3 rivals who have stuttered a little but with all winning 3 The Cheltenham and Morecombe draws ended the season, combined with the 94mim switch off and lack of game management at Oxford. Add even 4 points more from those 3 games, we’d be two points off 6th

It was the draws what killed the chance on 10:41 - Mar 26 with 675 views | Churchman | I don’t disagree. Too many draws in that section of games. However, that’s going to happen and I think it’s the miserable relegation form first 6 games that did for us. 3 points from 18 against mediocre opposition and 4 of those games were at home. 15 goals conceded, never less than 2 in a game. Inexcusable, really. The next 6 matches reaped 11 points. Much better, but the draw against Wednesday was lucky, a scrape against Shrewsbury, miserable performance against Accrington, suicide against Cambridge. But we were improving. Ok, stats never tell the whole story, but I believe it was that start that killed us, not our inability to kill games in recent weeks. Something to work on for next season, that’s for sure.

It was the draws what killed the chance on 11:53 - Mar 26 with 556 views | SE1blue | Cook and injuries and not enough time for McKenna in my opinion. Despite being desperate for us to go up, I think we would be better placed if we have a full season of McKenna promotion momentum, rather than sneaking in when not quite ready this year. That said, I would take promotion in a heartbeat if we should be so lucky…

It was the draws what killed the chance on 12:22 - Mar 26 with 496 views | Guthrum | That's not entirely fair. In reality, given the stiffness of the task and in light of the unprecedented momentum of teams at the top of the table, we couldn't afford to drop any points at all. Which is almost beyond what is humanly possible, especially since the form of our strikers has fallen away, or the one who is coming into some became injured. I think it's more important to celebrate the fact we've given it a really good go and, even now, are not mathematically out of contention. Remembering the mood at the start of December, stubling out of the cups and struggling in the League, most of us would have taken that.

Last week obviously the icing on the top. Win today and we’ll probably start doing some equations again.
