Wonder who has got to him to stand aside?

I think that's fair enough, the present incumbent has finally got the message that the will of the people is not to stand for this Tory Leadership...

The next one in the job will have a party of max 150 seats in two years time and the leader presiding over that will be flushed away. He’s biding his time. Smart move.

Maybe he has a skeleton or two in his cupboard?

And although he always seems comparatively decent, he has still been complicit in this crooked sh#tshow.

Seems some of the heavy hitters are hedging their bets until after the 2024 GE

I think if they lose office in 2024 an anti-culture war candidate will have more success, which is why I think Jeremy Hunt won't be a candidate this time.

If he resigns he can’t re-stand. Thank god/deity of choice.

It did seem a strange suggestion. Is that the Party rules or do you mean as PM? If it is as PM, can he remain as PM and get his name put forward for the leadership contest so he remains?

"After careful consideration and conversations with many of my colleagues it is clear that I have the support of many and that they recognise the good job I am still doing on Covid, the economy, Ukraine, Brexit, Northern Ireland, standing up against the nasty EU, immigration, etc, etc, waffle waffle, blah blah. I am now seeking a mandate from the party faithful to put behind us this ridiculous attempted coup from some in the party. I therefore announce that I am willing to stand on the ballot to continue as party leader. Jacob, Liz and Nadine are keen to act as my nominees."

If it is the party rules, can he wriggle on the basis he has not actually resigned but said he will stand aside once a successor is found and argue that the mandate would show there is not yet a successor? If he can't, can he force a rule change?

the bloater certainly has a knack of attracting the 'not too bright - she actually believed when he lied to her that he would leave his wife for her, she got pregnant and when she told him, he told her to get an abortion, she did

"A Leader resigning from the Leadership of the Party is not eligible for re-nomination in the consequent Leadership election." - page 18 of the Conservative constitution

the pole dancing floozy followed my the same lie (without the pregnancy)

and he gas now married some dimwit who was sacked from her Tory Party jib for 'misusing' her expenses - not bright enough to work out there might be an audit trail

as the best liggers go, she has recently spunked a hideous amount of someone elses money turning the Downing Street flat into something that resembles a Victoria brothel crossed with a 70's Indian restaurant

Harry Enfields 'I saw you coming' sketches spring to mind

If Nadine wins the PM slot then she will make Blojob her deputy PM 'cos she luuuuurves him.
She will then resign making Blojob the new PM.
Simples.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
