Got a draw against Bolton thanks to a pre-ordained set piece move, scoring no others, and beat Forest Green thanks to a wonder goal.
We are still not converting enough 'simple' changes considering the amount we create. Ladapo has been consistently left abandoned up front without much support against both Bolton and Forest Green then the subs have proven tonight that they'd struggle to score in a brothel.
Something isn't sitting right and it hasn't since McKenna has come in when it comes to converting chances. | |

Well said. Did we create one clear cut chance on Saturday. Not sure we did. Two speculative efforts that went in. Bolton had one decent defender who kept our strikers at bay. FGR could easily have beaten us on Saturday. We look slow, uncreative and very shaky in defence when put under pressure. | | | |

I took grief for suggesting we need to manage our expectations by those who kept banging on about automatic being a given and all that.
It's a long season and we've not even scratched the surface.
This is just the sort of reaction I was concerned about.
What I would say about these cup games is there was a time that even when we fielded a second team we always had a few big guns on the bench to save the day if things weren't panning out.

Agree 100%....It's been the same ever since McKenna came in - we've not looked anywhere near enough of a goal threat. We didn't score anywhere near enough goals in the 2nd half of last season & in the first 3 games this season, I've failed to see anything different being done.
People seem to think that we'll sign a striker and then the goals will flow....i just don't see that being the case. There is more an emphasis on keeping the ball rather than actually moving it quickly trying to create chances. | |
