They have done a great job! You forget that their primary role is to protect energy suppliers profits and good dividend payments to share holders, they are not responsible for protecting consumers. Energy suppliers are private companies, profits are good, high dividends are good, consumer prices and value for money are irrelevant. What is the point of privatisation if it isn't to drive up prices to pay for these? Otherwise with wholesale prices falling why would price rises be passed on to consumers?
