Notts County v Boreham Wood 10:46 - May 7 with 2106 viewsSharkey

'The Wood' finished 35 points behind Notts County. I wonder how their fans feel as they head up to Nottingham for today's play-off. (I think if it was my team I'd go to the game, but I'd be thinking 'Oh God, I hope we don't actually win!'.)

Haha no chance, if it was us it'd just be an extra incentive to win.

The Italian Serie B system wouldn't be a terrible idea in these situations. If the 3rd placed team are 10 points or more ahead, then the play-offs aren't played.

Don't believe so. I think that the NL playoffs are single winner-takes-all ties, with the higher-placed team getting home advantage.

Bloody hell! It's such a sh*t system for clubs. Great for the TV audiences though.

This could get really weird, when with a couple of weeks left you'd have the team in 5th or whatever needing to lose to the team in 3rd so the gap between 2nd and 3rd doesn't get to ten at the end of the season.

It's a sh1t system for sure, but don't think I'd 'enjoy' watching it on TV, would just be sitting there thinking "this is completely iniquitous".

Just another reason for me to feel the POs are a terrible idea & that the top 2 or 3 teams should just simply go straight up as a matter of fairness.

Our gathering of Nottingham based Town fans had something to cheer about after our game finished! Nice way to round the day off

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
