It’s really interesting seeing behind the scenes at some of these grounds. There’s obviously been plenty of work at Morecambe’s but it is of course tiny. Going back to the dim and distant, I went to a few smaller places like Torquay, Exeter, Gillingham and they were absolute cr@p holes. Not now.
Watched Dartford play the other week. Their ground holds about 5000. It’s smart, plenty of toilets, clean, food and beer available. There’s plenty to moan about in the 21c but improvements in football grounds isn’t one of them.
Ashton likes a shiny shoe, doesn’t he.

Drinking sessions more memorable than the game if I'm honest... met a friend in Lancaster for lunch and pre-game beer, then post match, headed to Kendal for the Kendal Music festival. a few beers and a curry and then danced the night away in a very busy, very sweaty pub to some quite entertaining cover band.
