That's an injury that is a very hard to give any sort of timescale on.

Oh for….

Does McKenna rate Hladky or will we get a loan in? Shame the one month emergency loans don’t exist anymore.

Sounds like he's had a flower shoved somewhere unpleasant.

Get well soon, Christian. In Hladky we trust.

Think we may need another keeper. Not sure we can go with Hladky for any length of time.

It's far from ideal but we have very good cover in that position.

Hladky got one of the worst save percentages in the EFL in a town shirt

Yep. Feels harsh on Hladky, but I wouldn't really want an extended period with him as our first choice.

Oh dear! Let's hope Hladky takes his big chance to impress. It could be worse - back in the day Laurie Sivell was cover for Super Cooper......

How long is quite a while? Two months? If so, we're going with Hladky aren't we? Until Christmas? He would be left out of the squad and we would likely loan someone in.

Truly impaired.

Wow, didn't see that coming with that injury!

I've had it off and on for years and it is painful, my GP told me "if you were a pro footballer, they'd just inject it with a steroid", so assume thats what they'd do as a lot of footballers must get it.

Never heard anyone been out injured with it before!

RIP Sir Bobby

Maybe around 2 months if it’s the same kind of injury as described in this paper

As much as I like Hladky as a person and back up I'm thinking we need to get someone in until Christmas maybe

If Hladky gets an injury that leaves us Slicker on his own as such

Really not an ideal situation either way

Like someone has said , really not a good start is it ....ouch

It's quite common in runners, apparently & as the cause is rarely clear, the recovery time is uncertain. I reckon this could be one of these cases where Walton rests it for a bit, seems fine & then it keeps recurring so no wonder we aren't estimating a return date.

Think you could make a case for that being the worst medium/long term injury we could get, probably between him and Leif.

Potentially starting the Championship season with a weaker side than we had in League 1 isn't great but hopefully the other injury concerns are just niggles and we get a few more through the door soon.

Which would likely mean removing Walton from the 25 until January.

I don't think we want to use 4 keeper spots for our squad?

Neither would Slicker, due to age.

By all accounts, my little birdy in the squad tells me Hladky has been training like an absolute trojan all summer and really rates him.

If Hladky is to have any sort of long-term future at the club, this period is his time to shine. Let's build him up, not down.

Ah ok. Or even another spot on a keeper means one fewer for the outfield.

I don't understand why you have to be a footballer to have a steroid injection. I had this injury in Spain, it was really painful, especially first thing in the morning. I was limping around like a three legged horse.
After a few months of pain, I decided enough was enough. I visited a private specialist, and she administered a painless injection in my heel. She warned me it might take more than one injection. I still suffered so a few weeks later, i had another steroid. I think you can have a maximum of three per year. Anyway it worked, and after a few more weeks I was pretty much ok. It can take time
