I'm from their era and the "right age",I liked them, never loved them was always a Blur fan between the two if they were put against each other. I did see them twice at Glastonbury I think..pre huge and post huge. They were pretty patchy at the best of times live...risky let's say for fans. They were never really together when they were together how long have they been officially apart ... 20 years ?
Many bands have a great first album and a difficult second album. That's not the case with Oasis as Morning Glory was also great. They did however have difficult third, forth, fifth, sixth and seventh albums.

Dalai Farmer reckons he saw them at at The Army and Navy but I'm not sure.
I was at Chelmsford V the time they didn't show up after the row the previous night at Stafford and that was it.
So, I have never seen them but to be honest I'm not overly bothered.
I suppose I would like to see them but I don't think I'd enjoy sharing a stadium with 90'000 Oasis fans.
Heaton Park will be horrific.
IMHO

Everyone our age in Essex reckons they saw them at the Army and Navy! I saw them at V when they did show up, would have been about 2007 I think, and they were great. Which one do you reckon has got the tax bill that prompted this?
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

They definitely (maybe) played The Army and Navy so he could've done. I was a regular there back in the day but unfortunately didn't see Oasis. Elastica were probably the biggest I saw there (before they were big).

Isn't Noel going through an expensive divorce???????????????????????????????????

Yeah but what about the others in the band. Does it have to be the Bonehead, Guigsy and McCarroll or White line up or the Archer/Bell/Starkey later line up ?

Couldn't think of anything worse.
Seen them a couple times at Glasto early/mid 90s. Decent then as fresh but now a couple of bitter old men.

Liam stayed on our backstage one year when they were in the process of falling out (didn't want to stay in the same area as his brother). Away from the public/media he was pleasant enough, would say hello in passing, didn't play the big I am.
Massive winnebago, had a little hatch with a smart car in it. Was one of the muddy years.
I only just realised that the Army and navy was that giant mock tudor pub near the Chelmsford flyover or roundabout ..can never remember which..used to go past it every weekend in the early to mid 1980's and dad would mention it as a kind of landmark on our Ipswich to London trip as our halfway point.
If the former, I'm with you. But personal taste aside, the reunion gigs will be horrible - 50,000 coked up lads doing karaoke so loud you won't hear the band.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Because that was the road from London through to Ipswich, till they shifted the a12 out and bypassed Chelmsford as it was a huge bottleneck.
That's why everyone remembers it because you passed it everytime on that road.and often spent a long while staring at it stuck in traffic

Oasis. Prefer The Rutles of the Beatles-obsessed bands. And Big Star, obviously.

Tickets will be £200 each to stand on the pitch or £350 if you want the luxury of a seat miles from the stage. If I had to go to one it would be Glasto cos you can always wander off and watch some better

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I’ll be very surprised if Tony McCaroll or Alan White are involved - they both fell out with Noel. Guigsy seemingly doesn’t want anything to do with the band - don’t think he’s seen Liam or Noel since he left.
