Physio Exit Confirmed

Town have confirmed that head of sports science Dave Williams has left the club, as TWTD was first to report a month ago. The physio, who was with the Blues for 12 years, is moving on to further his outside business interests.

Williams told the club site: "It is always a wrench to leave anywhere after such a long period of your career and I will take many happy memories, both ups and downs, with me. But I feel that the time is right for me to go now.

"I am looking forward to developing my Sports Med East physiotherapy practice and to see how far I can go with it. Of course, I will be watching results for the forthcoming season and wish the club every success for the future."

Chairman David Sheepshanks added: "The name of Dave Williams and the position of club physiotherapist have become synonymous over the last 12 years, so it will be very strange not to have him around.

"Dave has been a hugely valued member of the backroom staff since he joined us in 1995, performing a key role in building the medical and support team behind the playing squad.

"He is a talented and highly likeable man and we wish him the very best of good fortune as he embarks on his new business venture."

Matt Byard will step-up into the first team physio role for the season ahead.
