Returning striker Pablo Couñago says he is excited at his move back to Portman Road. The 27-year-old has joined the Blues on a two-year deal, which could rise to three if Town are promoted to the Premiership by the end of the 2008/09 season.

Pablo told the club site: "It's great to be back here at Ipswich. I'm really excited about the move. As soon as I knew that Jim wanted me I was keen to come back.

“It's good to feel wanted. I also know the way Jim likes to play football, pass, pass, pass and that is good for me as well. Jim knows what I can do and hopefully I can pay back the faith he has shown in me."

Couñago left the Blues in 2005 after a fall-out with then boss Joe Royle but doesn't expect a repeat of the same situation: "It's a different moment now, a different manager. The club is still the same though. I know many of the players and the staff. The fans are very special as well and I was lucky to have a great relationship with them. I hope I can do good things for them."

During his first spell with Town Couñago made 69 starts and 52 sub appearances and scored 36 times.
