Town are set to receive an additional £775,909 this season after the Football League's solidarity payment from the Premiership was revealed to be £90 million over the next three years. The cash is the Football League's share of the Premiership's new £2.7 billion global television deal.

The first season's instalment will be £31.8 million, with Championship clubs receiving differing amounts depending on their performance. The precise figure each club receives is worked out based on their final league position in the previous season and the number of sides bouncing back into the Premiership, thereby freeing up parachute cash to go instead to Championship teams.

Wolves, who finished fifth in the Championship last season, receive £1,383,602 of additional income with Southampton in sixth gaining £75,000 less than that figure. This £75,000 drop continues down to 13th where Cardiff will get £775,909, as will all the clubs below them, including Town who ended 2006/07 in 14th.

All sides in League One will receive £103,480 and all League Two clubs £68,987. Each season's cash also includes £5.4 million to go towards youth development and £4 million for community investment.
