Lee Signs New Deal
Monday, 6th Aug 2007 19:34

Striker Alan Lee has signed his new two-year contract with the Blues. The Republic of Ireland international agreed the new terms, which take him up to June 2009, late last week.

Lee told the club site that he's happy with the Blues and wasn't keen on a switch this summer, despite strong interest from Coventry and then Hull: "I'm obviously delighted to get things sorted, but it was never in my mind to move on.

"There was a lot of speculation around with family and friends asking you what is going on, but I took it as a positive that clubs were interested in me.

"I didn't let it affect me and, now things have been confirmed, I can look to the future here and I can only see it being bright for this football club.

"We have some very good players and I want to play my part in helping Ipswich get back in the Premiership."

Lee's new deal has an option for another year on top of the initial two.
