Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor says that former Town striker Shefki Kuqi is not for sale. Tabloid reports over the weekend linked the Blues with a move for the Finnish international.

Taylor said: "Shefki's a very important player and even though he didn't start on Saturday, there's no doubt he'll be starting plenty of times this season.

"He's out to prove people wrong as well and I want him to stay. He came on against Southampton for the last half an hour and showed a tremendous attitude."

Town's interest seemed unlikely with three senior strikers plus youngsters Billy Clarke, Danny Haynes and Jordan Rhodes already at the club and a significant fee likely to be demanded for the Kosovo-born frontman.
