Jim: No Moves for Duo
Jim: No Moves for Duo

Boss Jim Magilton says he has not made an approach either for West Brom's Richard Chaplow or former Blue Darren Ambrose, now with Charlton.

Last week, Magilton hinted that Chaplow is a player he may consider during the January transfer window after a number of national newspapers reported that Town and Crystal Palace were after the former Burnley man.

Ambrose's name has come up a lot on the TWTD Message Board in recent days as a player who could come in on the left of the Blues' midfield.

Magilton says he rates the duo but he has not contacted either of their clubs: “Both are very good young players who would make a difference to us, but we have not made any moves for them - it is just speculation.”

The Town manager is unlikely to sign anyone before the emergency loan window closes on Thursday at 5pm, although one or two players at the fringes of the Blues squad may make loan moves.

Brentford are keen on strikers Dean Bowditch and Jordan Rhodes along with a number of other lower league sides, while the likes of Chris Casement and Michael Synnott are amongst those that Magilton would like to see gain Football League experience.
