Plymouth Hold Norris Board Meeting
Plymouth Hold Norris Board Meeting
Tuesday, 22nd Jan 2008 08:57

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock attended a board meeting yesterday afternoon held to discuss Town's latest offer for David Norris. The Blues made a renewed bid last Thursday, understood to be £1.75 million plus add-ons which would take the fee towards £2 million.

Plymouth are still to confirm whether Norris has handed in a transfer request, as widely reported, while the midfielder was missing from a squad trip to HMS Albion yesterday.

Leicester City are also continuing to chase Norris, although whether they have actually made a bid is also yet to be confirmed.

Town are reported to have withdrawn from the race to sign Birmingham City full-back Mat Sadler. The 22-year-old is now expected to join Watford, with Wolves having a bid turned down.

The Blues were amongst a number of Championship sides reportedly interested in Sadler, who has been told he can leave St Andrew's.

Town's Jaime Peters is claimed to be a loan target of Rumanian side Steaua Bucharest. Canadian international Peters, who has admitted difficulties into settling into life in England, seems unlikely to want to make a switch to Eastern Europe.

Already playing in Rumania is former Blue Sixto Peralta, who signed for league leaders CFR Cluj on a free transfer from River Plate last week.

Meanwhile, Town chairman David Sheepshanks has joined the board of FA Learning, the arm of the FA which deals with coaching education.
