Weekend Speculation
Weekend Speculation
Monday, 2nd Apr 2001 09:48

Town have been linked with Colin Healy, a midfield player from Celtic. Healy, 5'11", is 21 and hasn't made much of an impression on the first team at Parkhead, so far making only 18 starts plus another 15 appearances as sub, scoring two goals.

Healy was born in Cork, Ireland and was signed from Ballincolligh in 1999. He can play either wide or in the centre of midfield.

Weekend speculation also suggested that John Scales would be released by Town at the end of the season.

Saints caretaker manager Stuart Gray has praised Town ahead of tonight's match with his side. Gray has taken over since the departure of Glenn Hoddle and ex-Town coach John Gorman and has the rest of the season to show what he can do.

Gray said: "Ipswich are one of the surprise packages of the season but they have got where they are through hard work, organisation and commitment. They deserve to be where they are because of the way they have applied themselves this season. George Burley has got them very organised and they know exactly what they are trying to achieve. Ipswich have organisation, preparation and honesty and I think that we have the same thing."
