Academy striker Paul Murphy has been named in the Republic of Ireland U17 squad for their European Championship elite qualifiers next month. Last week Murphy scored a goal in each game as the Irish beat Finland in two friendlies.

The group games start with a match against Germany at Terryland Park, Galway on 13th March, with Greece the next opponents two days later in Athlone.

The final game is on 18th March when Portugal are at Terryland Park. The winner of the group goes through to the finals in Turkey in May.

Republic of Ireland U17s: Ger Hanley (Salthill Devon), Harry Lee (Charlton Athletic), Richie Towell (Celtic), Paudric Ormsby (Crumlin United), Johnny Dunleavy (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Mark Connolly (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Kallum Keane (Derby County), Gavin Gunning (Blackburn Rovers), Shaun Timmins (Birmingham City), Aaron Doran (Blackburn Rovers), Conor Clifford (Chelsea), Conor Hourihane (Sunderland), John Sullivan (Crumlin United), Gearoid Morrissey (Ringmahon Rangers), Greg Cunningham (Manchester City), Paul Murphy (Ipswich Town), Darragh Satelle (Crumlin United), Robert Brady (Manchester United).
