New Academy Sponsor
New Academy Sponsor

Town's Academy has a new sponsor for the rest of this season and the next. They are Pritt who have already been involved in the sponsorship of Town's Media Centre this season. The youngsters will wear the Pritt name on their shirts for this Thursday's FA Youth Cup game with Arsenal.

This sponsorship is unlikely to have any bearing on the over all club sponsorship with Taylor Barnard and Broad Oak Farm also sponsoring the Academy sides during Greene King's tenure as sponsors.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks said of the new deal: "We are pleased to receive this public show of support from Pritt for our Academy. Our Youth Development Academy is the cornerstone of the club and as such is vital to its future. It has produced Premiership players such as Richard Wright, James Scowcroft and more recently Titus Bramble and continues to undertake the heavy responsibility of ensuring that Ipswich Town maintains its reputation for equipping young players with the skills, mental strength and attitude to compete at the highest level."

From Pritt Mike Rayner, their Sales and Marketing Director said: "We are keen to encourage creativity and fun through our Pritt Sticks and Pritt Rollers and now we are delighted to partner the highly successful Ipswich Town Academy."

From the Academy itself Bryan Klug said: "We’re absolutely delighted the boys have a sponsor especially as the agreement will be in place in time for the important FA Youth Cup semi-final first leg on Thursday and the team will have the opportunity to wear their new kit."

Club mascot Bluey was said to be a bit worried by the situation.
