Two Sponsors for Next Year
Two Sponsors for Next Year

The story claiming that Town are looking to have two sponsors for next year has surfaced again. And it seems Greene King are certain to keep their involvement in the club in some way.

It had been thought that the brewers had been priced out of the market with the value of Town's sponsorship somewhere around the £2.5 million level. This would increase should Town enter Europe and it is thought Town might have a different sponsor for any European games.

There seems to be a lot of speculation flying about and not many facts but Greene King do seem determined to stay involved at Portman Road into the future while it seems likely that a larger company, perhaps BT, NTL or National Power as mentioned earlier in the week, may have a high profile role too.

Long-term Town target Gert Verheyen may be on his way to German club Schalke 04. Apparently Schalke's Dutch coach Huub Stevens (what is it with Dutch coaches and their names?) is keen on the player and wants him to play in the Bundersliga with his side.

Schalke have already brought Verheyen's Club Brugge team-mate Sven Vermant, also linked with Town, to his club and has two other Belgians Nico van Kerckhoven and Emile Mpenza already in his side.

The deal is said to be dependent on Club Brugge's demands. The figure quoted at the time of Town's interest was £2 million.

Today's Do You Remember? player up for judgement is Jason Dozzell. With the youths doing so well last night we thought we'd look at the youngster who scored a First Division goal when aged just 16 years and 57 days.
