Magilton Ops Less Serious
Magilton Ops Less Serious

The leg operation that Jim Magilton requires is not as serious as first thought. Magilton needs an op on a twisted vein and is to face four weeks on the sidelines, contrary to earlier reports that suggested he would face eight weeks out.

The Town midfielder said: "It was a lot of bunkum. I have a circulation problem stemming from a knotted vein and it takes me a little time to recover from matches."

He is still yet to decide when he has the surgery. He may have to miss Northern Ireland's summer World Cup games, but Magilton is keen to get his caps haul up to 50. However, he says he is also keen not to miss any Town games: "I don't want to miss any games for Ipswich or be left behind in the preparations for next season."

Town's U17 game with Reading today has been called off due to the wet weather. The game has been rescheduled for next weekend.
