Boss Jim Magilton says Monday's 10am release of the new Championship fixtures gets everyone in the mood for the season ahead. Town's first game of 2008/09 will be known at 10am today when the first round of the Carling Cup is drawn.

Magilton told the club site: "When the fixtures come out, you start to get a taste for the new season. I'm looking forward to next year. I felt that way straight after the Hull game at the end of last season and I'll be keeping a keen eye out on Monday for the fixtures.

"Pre-season training starts in a couple of weeks and when the players are back and the banter is flying around, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up because you know another year is just around the corner.

"Obviously it's important for us to get a good start and it's important that the new players that we will bring in will gel quickly. It's all about pieces of the jigsaw dropping into place."
