Town have drawn League One Leyton Orient at home in the first round of the Carling Cup. The sides last met in the same competition in 1988/89 when the Blues won the tie, also at Portman Road, 2-0.

Meanwhile, Colchester United have been drawn away at Gillingham, which means the U's will not have to play their game at Portman Road as might have been the case if they had been handed a home tie.

The North Essex side's new ground is not expected to be finished in time for the first round ties which will be played in the week commencing 11th August.
