Bowditch Offered One-Year Deal Thursday, 19th Jun 2008 10:24 Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that striker Dean Bowditch has been offered a new one-year deal with the Blues. Earlier reports had claimed the out-of-contract frontman would be released by Town, but Magilton feels the former England U19 international can still make it at Portman Road. Magilton told the club site that Bowditch, 22 last Sunday, will decide on his future when he returns from his summer break: "He has been offered a new one-year contract and we will see where that takes us. "Dean's away on holiday at the moment and thinking over his decision and I'm sure we will be talking next week." Town begin pre-season training next Wednesday, although some members of the squad are already at Playford Road working with fitness coach Simon Thadani. Meanwhile, claims that Norwich are about to sign Shola Ameobi from Newcastle are reported to have been rubbished by both clubs.
