Huddersfield Targeting Town Pair?
Huddersfield Targeting Town Pair?

Huddersfield Town are lining up a £700,000 bid for Blues pair Alan Lee and Gary Roberts, according to a tabloid report this morning.

Roberts is one of the five players transfer-listed by Jim Magilton earlier in the summer, but has been the star of pre-season so far after a disappointing 2007/08. Whether Town are willing to allow the former Accrington man to move on could depend on whether Rudi Skácel's switch from Southampton is finally completed.

Roberts, who has another two years left on his Town deal, may be unwilling to join a League One side even if the clubs agree a fee.

Lee could well be a player the Blues look to move on before the start of the season with Kevin Lisbie having signed and Town still chasing Nuremberg frontman Angelos Charisteas. Town's attacking ranks already appear over-staffed and the former Rotherham and Cardiff man seems the most likely departee.

A fee of £700,000 for the pair looks some way short of what Town would be looking to achieve for two members of the first team squad.
