Released Bolton Wanderers defender or midfielder Ivan Campo was spotted at tonight's friendly with West Ham by various TWTD Message Boarders. The 34-year-old was said to be with Town chief executive Derek Bowden as he watched the Blues lose to the Hammers.

The rumour around Portman Road at the game was that the San Sebastián-born centre-half or holding midfielder is set to sign a one-year deal, having left Bolton at the end of last season after six years at the Reebok Stadium.

Campo, 6ft 1in tall, started his career with a three-year spell at Deportivo Alavés prior to moving to Valencia in 1996. A season later he was with Real Mallorca, before he began five years at Real Madrid, which ended when he joined Bolton permanently in 2003 after a spell on loan.

During his time with Real, Campo, who is understood to share an agent with Pablo Couñago, was part of their side which won the Champions League in 1999/00. Campo has been capped four times by Spain and was in their 1998 World Cup squad.
