Town midfielder Owen Garvan has been confirmed in the starting line-up of the Republic of Ireland U21 side playing a friendly in Lithuania this afternoon. Garvan will be winning his seventh U21 cap.

Meanwhile, Alex Bruce again missed training with the Republic of Ireland senior squad yesterday due to the abductor strain he strain he suffered in last week's challenge match against Nottingham Forest. Giovanni Trapattoni's side face Cyprus at Croke Park on Wednesday.

Republic of Ireland U21s: Shane Redmond - Nottingham Forest, Seamus Coleman - Sligo Rovers, Eddie Nolan - Blackburn Rovers (on loan at Preston NE) - captain, Michael Spillane - Norwich City (on loan at Luton Town), Ian Bermingham - UCD, Stephen Gleeson - Wolves (on loan at Stockport County), Owen Garvan - Ipswich Town, Jimmy Ryan - Accrington Stanley, Anthony Pilkington – Stockport County, James O'Shea - Galway United, Sean Scannell - Crystal Palace.
