Boss Jim Magilton says Town owner Marcus Evans is becoming increasingly passionate about the game a year on from his takeover of the club. Last week Evans publicly backed the then underfire Town manager, who has since led his side to successive wins.

Magilton said: "I talk to the owner at least every other day and we talk football. He has become a passionate football man.

"Marcus has put the money in, he is the owner, it is only right that he should want to know what is going on.

"It is just over a year since his ownership changed the position of this football club. And we have been working towards a better tomorrow and assembling a squad since then.”

Meanwhile, former Blue George O'Callaghan has joined Dundalk back in his native Republic of Ireland after his contract with Tranmere was cancelled by mutual consent earlier in the month.
