Harding on Trial at Brighton Monday, 13th Jul 2009 13:16 Released Town full-back Dan Harding has joined his former club Brighton on trial. The ex-England U21 international spent last week on trial at Yeovil. Harding had looked set to join former loan club Reading on a permanent basis, but it appears that new manager Brendan Rodgers is less keen on the one-time Leeds left-back than former boss Steve Coppell and director of football Nicky Hammond. The 25-year-old started his career with the Seagulls before moving on to Elland Road in 2005 for a fee of £450,000, which could have risen to a potential £850,000. However, after only a year in Yorkshire, Harding joined Town in a swap deal which saw Ian Westlake move to Leeds with the Blues receiving an additional £450,000. The Gloucester-born player was released at the end of last season, having spent most of 2008/09 on loan at Southend and then Reading.
