Norris Targeting Quick Return
Norris Targeting Quick Return

Injured midfielder David Norris says he wants to get back into action as soon as possible after being ruled out for four months due to the knee injury he sustained at Coventry last week. Norris has been joined on the sidelines by Jaime Peters, who picked up an ankle injury on Saturday.

Norris told the club site: "I have never had pain like it. I thought it might be bad but was hoping it might be a kick rather than ligaments because it happened when I went in for a challenge.

"I was gutted when they told me that it was ligaments and that I would be out until Christmas. The manager had a word with me though, he's been there with a bad knee injury himself and that helped.

"I can't do anything but rest for two weeks and then I can start my rehab. I want to get back as quick as I can and at least I will have the second half of the season to look forward to if everything goes to plan."

Peters is rated as a big doubt for Tuesday’s home game against Crystal Palace after suffering an ankle injury towards the end of the Leicester match. Alan Quinn looks the most obvious replacement for the Canadian.

Town will also be without Pablo Couñago, who is back in training after suffering a groin injury early in pre-season, and Ben Thatcher, still recovering from last season’s knee problem, but both are expected to be involved in a reserve game on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the man charged in connection with the theft of shirts and scarves from the Sir Bobby Robson tribute over the weekend has been named as Jamie Underwood, 21, of Burrell Road. He will appear before South East Suffolk magistrates on August 24th.

Can users avoid posts regarding the guilt or otherwise of the shirt theft accused. Wouldn't want to prejudice the case.

Good luck with your quick recovery Chuck.

Also, I hope Jaime makes a quick recovery from his ankle injury. I think he is going to play a big part in Towns push this season!

Good win against Palace tomorrow and I think our season will well and truely get going.

COME ON YOU BLUES!

indeed, a win 2mo is vital. lets be honest a LDW start is no disaster and gives plenty to build on. GWS David Norris, just when he started to show why JM paid so much he gets injured - shame

Why is Garvan so out of favour. Instead of playing him our midfield 3 at the weekend were Healy (Irish league last year), Trotter (Scunthorpe last year) and Peters (winger at Yeovil last year). Now nothing against the 3 that played at the weekend but personally I didn't think they controlled the midfield at all. Now Phil mentions that Quinn is likely to replace the injured Peters. What has Garvan done wrong?!?

Agree with NewburyBlue. How can Quinn be above Garvan in the pecking order?

i think it is also to do with Garvan inaccurate passing, and yes he is good, but he needs to work on that to be playing week in week out!

Get well soon Chuck we need you back. As for Garvin, one of my favourite players but for some reason his passing this season is not good which is why Ithink he has been dropped to the bench. He needs to work really hard on that and I think he would be playing week in and week out, Quinn by all accounts had a really good game against the Shrews so that may be why he will come in before Garvin. Still at the end of the day RK picks the team not me so who ever he thinks will get us those three points is ok by me.

Its a shame Norris is out.
Wot do people think about Trotter? Personally I cannot c wot he brings to the team. I hope he is dropped. Very slow and ineffective.
Lets get Garvan in the team.

Chuck is a big miss for us. As for Garvan he will only ever be effective if he's given space to work in and that is very rare in the Championship. It's Quinny over Garvan any day!

We need him back, but dont rush as this could cause him longer term issues.
