mripswich147 - What a stupid comment, the lad has only been here a couple of weeks and hasn't yet had any service!

With supporters like you who needs rivals?

Mripswich147 is spot on!! ok it can take time for a player to settle, but this bloke hasn't even had a shot on goal!!! coming to think of it I cant recall him playing in anyone else either!! £1.7 million is a total waste of money for a player of his ability.

This is what I hate about being an Ipswich fan sometimes, SOME people coming up with pathetic comments when they have no idea what is actually going on.. Priskin has started 1 game for Ipswich, coming off bench twice. NO SERVICE whatsoever.. So stop chatting absolute shit when you have no idea about it. morons, god help some of these people.

Why we think every player joining ITFC should have time to settle in beggars believe!! Has Ched Evens needed time? NO, has Chopra needed time to settle in? NO!! quality players dont need time to settle in, they adapt to the players around them & get on with the job, So dont keep feeding me this S**t about players needing time to settle in.

well done lewis

Right, you've got me started now.. You said does Chopra need time to settle in.. Look at his midfield, Ledley, Rae, Whittingham.. all quality midfielders, also he has been there before for a number of seasons with mostly the same players and as for Ched Evans he has only scored 1 goal in 4 starts. Priskin has started 1 with a poor midfield so.. Case closed, you have no idea about football.

Suffolk_n_Good - The likes of Ched Evans, Chopra et al have been given good service from their midfield etc... So far this season the our team have not gelled and a therefore have not performed from back to front, so it is unfair to put the blame wholey on Priskins shoulders. Connor Wickham had all of pre-season and hasn't yet put the ball in the back of the net, but I don't hear you slagging him off. Lets give all our boys in blue the time to gel, let Keane do what he has to do and if it isn't fixed by Christmas then carry on your incessent moaning!!!

Priskin is an established international playing for a team which might effectively knock Portugal (including Cristiano Ronaldo) out of the World Cup in 2010. Once his Club side get its midfield sorted out, we'll see why we bought him.

A quality striker of which I am sure we will see scoring the goals very soon. Once the shambles of a midfield is rebuilt.

Simply can not believe that some fans won't give this guy time. Goodness! How many balls have our midfield played through to him so far? Has he played a full game?

Some fans are really idiots. Sorry, but you are! This chap hasn't been given a chance yet. How on earth can you judge him!

How anyone can critise Priskin yet is an absolute joke.

Did I at any point say that the midfield weren't to blame?!? NO, Did I bring up Wickham?!? NO, How long would some of you pratts like to give Priskin then!! 6 games, 12 games, 24 games, & how many goals to games ratio would you call a success? For all of you with the big mouths, lets see how long it takes Priskin to score 5 league goals, then maybe we can agree about the value of him!!

With fondest regards!

totally agree with you lewis. we need a cohesive midfield unit to
a) protect the back 4 from constant threat
b) dictate the pace of the game we play to our needs not the opposition
c) provide a constant and varied threat for our strikers to feed off

oh yeah and the odd goal would also help!!!!!

Paul Scholes please Roy

Suffolk n good:

No time limit. BUT more than just one start! Far too early too judge him. I think that's the point. If he misses three decent chances then I may agree he's not a decent player, but sadly haven't seen enough of him to judge yet and that's mainly due to our awful midfield.

I'm not sure what is depressing me more at the moment, the poor league position and start to the season or the ridiculous comments posted on here by 'fans'!! I remember Mariner taking some time to settle into the team but back then we were not calling for his head on a spike?? It seems the same people that want the club to revert to the old fashioned 'gentlemans club' are the same that want the club run like Newcastle United, 5 minutes on the pitch and of you haven't bagged a hat trick out you go...

The Cobbold's were one of a kind and we will be grateful that they were forever associated with Ipswich Town but unfortunately those days have passed us now and we must accept that we are a business, clubs that hire and fire constantly are testament to show how bad a business can be run (Southampton, Leeds, Newcastle anyone??)

Lets give this kid a chance and cheer him on against Sweden and Portugal!!

how on earth can people criticise him, ive been reading comments on here and i am absolutely baffled, about time everyone got a f#cking grip and actually start supporting ipswich town

Far too early to lay that sort of judgement on him Suffolk_n_good. As said above, he's started 1 and has been playing in front of a frankly pitiful midfield that have offered him absolutely nothing. He IS settled in as far as i'm concerned, you can be settled but still be given no chances if the team around you isn't up to the job!

You'll see.

When I watched the Priskin goals vid when we signed him I was as excited as the next supporter because I thought we would be supplying him with chances in much the same way watford were in the clip.

Yet from the very first game against Coventry, the ball has spent more time bouncing off walters head than Priskin has spent on the field.

The lineups have been very different from game to game as Roy reacts to each performance, so nothing at all is settled about us.

Its not just the midfield thats the problem. The defence (in addition to learning how to defend) have to be more committed to keeping the ball and working with the midfield to develop play from the back. From there we will see how good our front players are by their ability to make space for themselves dangerous runs and open teams up.

The only part of the Priskin deal you can criticise is the fact that we signed a player whose strength was with the ball at his feet and getting behind defenders, when is clearly playing in a long ball team.

Agree with austractor above. I can only really comment on Priskin's debut against Coventry. Quite opposite from being useless, I thought he looked like a player with vision surrounded by players who didn't have the same grasp of the play as he did. Priskin will obviously function best with some clever work around the box (remember how we played under George Burley?) Chasing long balls that have little direction is a thankless task for most forwards. Give the man some service and I guarantee he will put the ball in the net.
