Town and Newcastle United have been given permission by the Football League to wear special commemorative shirts in memory of Sir Bobby Robson when the sides meet at Portman Road next Saturday. The game, which is being screened live by the BBC, will also see Town rename the North Stand after their legendary former manager.

Both teams will wear shirts embroidered with the logo of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and words "Ipswich Town v Newcastle United, September 26th, 2009".

The kits will be auctioned for Robson's charity after the game.

Boz581 added 08:13 - Sep 19 Absolutley gutted I cannot be there, but I have given my season ticket to one of my sons friends, They never managed to gain the complete love of the man because of thier age but they have both been taken up by the emotion and both my sons will be very proud to be in the stand for its inaugeration and this momentous game. (got my scarf tho). Everyone prove Sir Bobby wrong about his "zombie" rant, he will be watching im sure.....
