Colback Keen on Staying
Colback Keen on Staying
Tuesday, 15th Dec 2009 12:25

Midfielder Jack Colback has reiterated his desire to remain with the Blues beyond the end of his half-season loan in January. The 20-year-old netted his second Town goal during Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Blackpool.

Colback said: “If it can be extended I’d love to stay longer. It’s been a fantastic experience and I’m a better player now than when I arrived.

“I’m so glad I came and it’s been a lot better for me than being in the reserves at Sunderland.

“I’ve not spoken to the manager yet and don’t know his plans, but to be here for the second half of the season would be nice.

“I can see the wheels turning now and although reaching the play-offs is a big ask, the manager believes it can be done and so do the players.”

Meanwhile, Hartlepool have been linked with a loan move for Town midfielder Colin Healy. Pools were close to signing the Irishman from Cork in the summer before the Blues matched their bid and brought him to Portman Road.

Since then Healy has managed only four starts for Town, the most recent at Peterborough in the Carling Cup back in August.

I'd like him to stay too, as would about 20,000 others I guess! At the end of the day though, the decsion is between Messrs Keane and Bruce I suspect ...

If we could get our money back on Healy that would be a real bonus. Snatching him away from hartlepool in the first place suggests the level he was at

Nice assets blue chick. :-)

Yeah Colback is a good lad, hopefully keep hold of him in January and ship out some of the dead wood.

I'd like to see Colback stay. Looks a good, hard-working young player - just what we need.

Colback has been a useful addition to the squad and I hope he stays.

We might as well try to give Healy away on a free transfer. If he goes on loan I would take this to mean that we are still paying part of his wages. That always seems to happen to us, yet when we loan players we seem to pay the full wage plus often a loan fee!

Great player with great hair, sod getting him to sign for another half season loan, pay a fee to sign him permanately!

Agree bleedblue, maybe not about the hair, a permanent deal would be great.
The only problem is whether Sunderland would let him go.
I think he will only get better, has shown touches of class so far, and would be at home in the premiership

Not to be too controversial, but fair play he took his goal well, but lets not get carried away and sign him up straight away. Give him the rest of the season to impress us and have a clause that we get first dibs.

Too many times a player comes in, does a little bit, fans jump on the band wagon and we are left with dead wood.

Don't get me wrong, he was good on Saturday and I do rate him but lets just bide our time with him. Bottom line we have some good players coming back and with everyone fit, would he make your match day squad?

like man citys squad. slim down the middle, plenty up top!

dont think we will sign him on a permant deal. blatenly here to get games like mark noble did when he came here 3 seasons ago (now a regualr starter at west ham) speaking of man city, wouldnt mind getting either caciedo or benjani here on loan. they must be wayyyyyy down the pecking order behind santa cruz adebyor etc and would fire them in at this level

Colback is class, we don't need to 'trial' him for the rest of the season, just get on and sign him up, he's exactly the kind of player we should be spending money on, young, hungry and full of promise. The thing that impresses me about him is how quickly he reads the game. He thinks at least twice as fast as Trotter, for example. The new Paul Scholes?

i recon in the flesh they're droopy. Get the impression she's pushing them together. They do look quite firm on second reflection.
How do we know they are even yours?

Paul Scholes II

We must spend money on this talent!

I love the fact that the story has been over looked by "bluechick" and her profile pic

Is it me or does anyone else agree Bluechick looks as though she could do a good job upfront for town? ;-)

terry added 16:11 - Dec 15
I'm skeptical about bluechick. Much as I'd love to believe there are female town fans as fantastically well endowed as that, I have never met one. And what's more most of shapely females I have seen had faces like sacks of sugarbeet swinging from a tree in the wind ..

Oh and yeah would like to see Colback stay, shows he can do a job for us whether he plays regularly or when called upon - Saturday a great example of this.

It's great to see that Colback wants to stay. He seems to be in the right frame of mind to help us out of this situation we're in at the moment.

So let's not get distracted by bluechick, lets just hope that we're kept abreast of the transfer situation during January. Oh, wait...
