Town Ask For Goal to Be Given to Norris
Town Ask For Goal to Be Given to Norris
Monday, 11th Jan 2010 20:11

Town have confirmed that they will officially request that the Football League credit Sunday’s goal at Leicester to David Norris. Foxes defender Ryan McGivern got the final touch but the Blues midfielder says he made contact with the ball.

The goal was widely credited as an own goal in the media, but Town are likely to be successful with their request with no dubious goals panel in operation in the Football League.

Complete joke - Norris hardly touched the ball & wasn't going in without the defender's help.

They'll probably not only reject the request but rescind the goal as punishment for making a frivolous appeal!

Harvo you got there first but they could also extend Jon Stead's ban by another game for the frivolity.

What a joke! Rather than arguing the toss about a scrappy goal - which seems to have diverted attention away from David Norris' rather poor performance - why don't the club concentrate and focus their efforts in searching for a goalscorer... and any other players who they think might help our plight.

i didnt think Norris got a touch, but we need goals who cares, just wish we had followed it up in the remaining 89.+ minutes....that was the BIG disapointment .

i hope they give it to norris had him as first goalscorer at 16/1 only had a quid on it but still 17 quid returns would be nice

Norris' rather poor performance!
he has been out all season injured, has played 55 minutes twice, and made lung busting run to get in the box to get a touch to give us a goal....my god you are a tad harsh!
For all of you who says it doesnt matter who scored...well goals give confidence.
Let him have his goal, what with confidence and returning match fitness, we are set to have one of the best midfielders in the championship.
Only Town fans could find something negative to whinge about, about a bloody goal.

Well put injuredanimal.

I'm pleased the club are standing up for the players. This also goes for the failed Stead appeal - as long as the club asked him first if he'd like them to make the appeal knowing the risk that the ban might increase.

If my employer was to act in this way, standing up for me, I'd have more respect for them. I think this is another small morale booster for the players (not just Norris), even if the request fails.

Norris' rather poor performance what planet are you on man and i loved his determination to try and get the goal which put the defender under pressure to make the mistake we need players in the sqaud like that

I really don't think town should be worrying about this. How about getting on the phone to some clubs about a few big signings :)
