Hearts left-back Lee Wallace says he has heard nothing regarding a move to England despite a number of Championship clubs being linked with him. Town, West Brom and Middlesbrough were all mentioned in connection with the 22-year-old Scotland international in November.

Wallace said: "As far as any speculation is concerned I have not heard anything. I'm a Hearts player and no one has said anything to me. I come here every day to train and play for Hearts.

"It can be an unsettling time but we've had it all before over the years here and we have all dealt with it accordingly. You just have to ignore it and get on with your job."

Meanwhile, new Coventry signing Gary Deegan has revealed that he was close to joining the Blues when he was linked with Town last year. The midfielder recently moved to the Sky Blues from Brian Murphy’s old League of Ireland club Bohemians: “I nearly went to Ipswich in the summer. I thought it was a done deal, but it fell through so I had to get back on the horse and try again.

“There were a few clubs interested and I was asked to come over to Coventry to train for a week or so. The manager offered me something, so I was very happy.”
