Wright Making Progress
Wright Making Progress
Thursday, 28th Jan 2010 12:49

Keeper Richard Wright hopes to get back into full training in a month’s time as he continues his recovery from the knee ligament injury he suffered at Cardiff in November. Wright is ahead of schedule, having been expected to be out of action for four months.

The former England keeper has been doing some light training but told the club site that he’s looking forward to getting back into more serious action: "It's going well and I'm aiming to be back working on the training ground fully with the rest of the group in four weeks.

"Any injury is frustrating but I'm making progress and I can't wait to get going again."

The 32-year-old is out of contract with Town at the end of the season, having returned to Portman Road in the summer of 2008 after spells with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham.

Good Luck Richard ! It will be good to see you back, but you'll have some stiff competition to get back between the sticks. You can prove yourself !

Thurleston's Number One !

If he gets fit, send him out on loan. No point on him sitting around as third choice for the next few months.

I was Thurleston's number 1 too, a few years later! Shame I didn't get a career going like Richard's!!

I hope he makes a swift recovery, but really don't think he will play for us again. Too many mistakes this season and with his injury problems returning again, I doubt Roy will justify giving him another contract. He must be one of the higher earners?

Are you all nuts?! Have you forgotten his form at the beginning of the season? He was brilliant, especially away to West Brom, even though we lost. 32 is still young for a keeper. He may have gone through a nervy period recently but to get rid of him would be crazy. He's still a very good goalkeeper. Better than a lot of the keepers we've been looking at!

Will be good to have 3 senior keepers once again but can't see him getting back in. Am looking forward to seeing Murphy in action, especially with Arran looking a little bit shaky on tuesday night.
