Keane: Fans Have Been Magnificent
Keane: Fans Have Been Magnificent
Thursday, 11th Feb 2010 16:47

Town boss Roy Keane has thanked fans for their patience during what has been a disappointing season. The Blues boss says he will be making sure his players give due thanks to supporters after future games, having been unhappy that some have failed to do so in the past.

Keane told the club site: "Our fans have been magnificent this season. They could easily have lost patience with some of the players, the team and myself but they haven't done that.

"We all appreciate it. Some of my players have disappeared down the tunnel too quick for my liking in some games without showing their thanks to the supporters - that won't be happening again, you can be sure about that.

"Our fans have travelled in large numbers and at home, we have been hitting 20,000 - in a season which has been disappointing.

"I want us to get up to 30,000 and see the place full up. That will only come with us winning football matches. If we are winning games every week, the supporters will come in their numbers."

Great reaction from the players after the final whistle on Saturday though. All walked right up to the stand and said their thank-yous.

agree with his comments and think he is the man to get us up to 30,000 each home game and the premier league

Clearly Roy doesn't read the TWTD pages then. :-)

He's beginning to grow on me now, hope he can salvage something from the season. Are the play-off's realistic do we think?

I think he's got it right. The Fans have been magnificent. There are a number of whingers who moan at everything but I for one do not put them in the category of "Fans".

keano... have a word with clegg and evans about charging less than 27/28 quid for a ticket. might be a better way of getting full houses.

i agree nearly £30 a ticket is far to much for the championship, i would go more often if i could afford it. i think next season is more realistic BUT YOU NEVER KNOW ONLY 10 POINTS OFF 6TH PLACE. BLUE ARMY BLUE ARMY BLUE ARMY.
