New Ticket Office Number
New Ticket Office Number
Thursday, 20th May 2010 18:54

Town have changed their Ticket Office telephone number in the wake of Ofcom introducing new rules regarding 087 numbers last year.

The Ticket Office’s new number is 0844 80 11 555, which the club says will see in a reduction in call charges for most users. The previous 0870 111 0 555 number will be phased out during the summer.

I hate non-geographic numbers due to the cost of ringing them, especially from mobile phones. I only have a mobile, and checking the prices they charge 20p-a-minute for calling 0844. So a ten minute call to ITFC to buy a ticket costs £2.

Can someone find a geographic alternative to 0844 80 11 555 and post it to www.saynoto0870.com?

An alternative to 08701110555 might be 01473400557 so this may still work for the new number

What sort of report from Ofcom can justify that we pay 10p a minute? 087 numbers and 084 numbers are there to rip people off - in this case the fan is once more exploited. if you buy online you get charged a handling fee. Last season spending even 2 minutes on the phone to the the ticket office- costing 20p on skype and then having to pay £31 for Town v Plymouth - I questionned my support.
01473 400 557 does not work and you cannot be transfered from the main switch board.
Sorry - I could continue ....

BTW you must remember these so called "independent" regulators are there to ensure the comapnies involved don't go bust as well as attempting to ensure the "customer" doesn't get ripped off. And there's the rub........ without ripping us consumers off they can't make the big profits they've promised the shareholders so........ Ofcom and the like are impotent. Rant over.

The 01473 number posted here doesn't work for the ticket office. It's some bloke called Aarons direct dial number.

The regulator is trying to find a happy medium, and though I also loath non geographical numbers he has redcued the cost.

I find a visit in person saves me loads of agro or clubbing together with my mates to buy tickets together when traveling away.

BT have recently dropped charges for calls to 0870 numbers in their option plans. However 0844 calls still command a premium, seems to me that the club are doing us no favours whatsoever.
