Priskin and Fülöp in Hungary Squad to Face England
Priskin and Fülöp in Hungary Squad to Face England
Monday, 2nd Aug 2010 12:48

Striker Tamás Priskin and likely new keeper Márton Fülöp have been named in Hungary’s squad for their friendly with England at Wembley on Wednesday 11th August. The call-ups mean they will be unavailable for the Blues’ Carling Cup tie at Exeter the previous night.

Priskin has won 26 full caps, scoring seven goals and his close friend Fülöp has played for their country on 21 occasions.

The Blues are already without Gareth McAuley and Conor Hourihane for the Exeter game due to international commitments. Owen Garvan, like Hourihane named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad, will almost certainly have joined Crystal Palace well before next week’s matches.

If he can't score past England, then there is no hope for him at all!

Well, I hope Richard Wright is called up for Eng-er-land. That'll prove Keane was wrong!!!

No chance of Fulop being injured either is there?

Whoever's playing in goal for England may as well stay in the changing room, coz Priskin's not likely to get a shot on target, that alone actually score.

Who knows, Priskin may be like David Healy...
Bangs in goals for fun for his country but finds it a little harder for his club..

Whatever happens, we'll all be watching closely!

If we have four (or five) away on international duty, does anybody know if the game is likely to be posponed? If so, I have West Country business meetings to rearrange!

Well hopefully Priskin scores some and then he starts knocking them in for us.
With alot of our players away against Exeter I hope we don't lose. Will Brian Murphy be away for international commitments like Gareth McAuley?

beerhelps: I think the rule is 3 out for International call ups and then you can ask for the game to be re-arranged... but that may be wrong, may only be for league games, may not mean that RK wants to delay the game anyway... So could be a complete red herring!

suffolk_n_good: SUPPORT your own player, don't slag him off.
you're also completely disregarding the promise he's shown in his last couple of games.

The England team will be interesting. Fabio has to bring in new players. I'd like to see Gerrard, Lampard, John Terry, David James..and the rest of them...dropped. We need 17-20 year old lads to build for the future.

Let's knock all the Gerrard and Lampard cannot play together rubbish on the head because it's true and they can't which they amply demonstrated to our embarrassment at the WC.

Will they be using the Jubilane ball? If so odds on Hungry win because we cannot pass, shoot, cross, move or run with the ball.

Anyone know what channel is showing the game? It said Setanta on some website I looked at?!! Fulop is a big name for us, we just need that elusive 20 a season and I will be happy! My uncle saw the Hammers game and said Hyam was excellent and if Priskin could just score, who knows? I really want him to come good this year.

What's the point of cancelling Exeter game? We'll do what we do every year and go out to crap opposition, whenever it's scheduled for and whichever side we put out.

Although I suspect Ipswich will field a largely reserve side at Exeter, it does beg the question why the Carling Cup first round is scheduled on an International day? Mant Championship teams will be without key players - so what's the point?

Any news on Chopra?

Berlin blue & youth, lets get a few things clear, Priskin has been given ample opportunity by Keane, if it had been any other striker who was already at the club when Keane arrived, who had only scored one league goal in an entire season, he would have got shot of him by now. Priskin is lazy, looks un-interested & just because he's shown that he can actually kick a ball in pre season doesn't mean he's gonna suddenly score a bucket load, if he was showing such great promise QPR would have bought him. I hope Priskin proves me wrong I really do, But from what I've seen with my own eyes, he just aint good enough.

Secondly, I like to see any Town player playing for their country do well, But I was born in England & at international level I support England & only England (although any fans patience would have been tried watching them in the world cup) if a Town player is playing for another country I'm happy to support them, but sorry not when their playing England.

If former England keeper Rob Green is recalled, Priskin could be on for a hat-trick

Lets hope Marcus Stewart is playing for Exeter City, Exeter are my nearest football league club and when not watching Town or midweek I just go along to watch Marcus play, great guy always chats to the fans.....if only I could turn the clock back......dream on eh?
I think no matter who plays for us Exeter will give us a good game, hard team to beat at the real St James Park.....!!!
